Now with the track control arms refitted along with new ball joints and track rod ends, the bumper cover was installed, Glacier Blue is hard to match given that the paintwork is nearly 17 years old and people do say that the paint on plastics can appear to look different. In some angles it looks a r...

Re: BB's TT

The front grill was cleaned with some warm soapy water and the Audi rings were sanded back to their original chrome finish to give a better key for the paint and then given two coats of Plastikote primer before the Plastikote satin black top coat. In addition cleaned up the headlight levelling senso...

Re: BB's TT

Several days were spent soaking the track rod end lock nuts with penetrating fluid and after four days I finally managed to loosen the drivers side lock nut and much to my relief the track rod end itself was free to unwind from the tie rod. Unfortunately the passenger side was a different story and ...

Re: BB's TT

Two weeks ago I started the process of reinstalling my track control arms which I’d previously removed to clean up and have the Cookbots fitted, followed by painting with some Eastwoods extreme chassis satin black. They have a few areas of corrosion which is quite common, even the new one I fitted three years ago has the first small signs of corrosion but I thought with these I woul...

Re: BB's TT

Thanks David, a long way off being anywhere near to your own project but you have encouraged me to tackle jobs that perhaps I would have thought twice about.

Re: BB's TT

On Sunday I had the opportunity to use my neighbours four point lift and since the haldex oil and filter were due decided this would be the best time to tackle this job as I’d not done this job myself and I know that access is tricky even with the special filter spanner. At the same time I also repl...
