Started engine and waited for it to warm up, lots of oily smelling smoke from rear of engine bay, suspect oil from cam cover whilst removing it. Allowing engine to get to working temp and burning old oil off, will ...

A513B671-7824-4C0F-98EE-A7F9B9A26521.jpeg I decided to buy the cam cover gaskets from GSF Carparts, as this item had same part number as OEM part (thanks The Parrott Bros for showing me 7Zap). Silicone also from GSF, reasoning thus :- if Einhell make the gasket, then their silicone should be the do...

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

After a bit of time enjoying myself, funny how all them years ago (1971) polishing and BS as an RAF apprentice was thought of as cruelty!

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

I found a small water ingress at O/S of rear window. After cleaning out the area with a solution of Milton and letting it all dry, I used the Tiger Seal from the outside and used various “bits” to keep it all secure whilst padding out from inside also (should have taken a photo). After overnight set...

ED3AD94D-DFFB-49E9-86FE-93856E44A77B.jpeg This is product used to attach spoiler to boot lid, all 4 bolts secured up nicely too. Small excess easily wiped off. Left overnight and next day all was looking and feeling good. Last night there had been some rain, feeling confident I checked number plate...

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

After looking at top of boot lid and underneath of spoiler, my thoughts are thus: no sealing compound used round middle two securing bolts and both plastic locating plugs, fibrous “sealing foam” used along top and bottom edges of spoiler. Also, both middle securing bolts were insecure, circlip on on...
