Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

What’s been going on? MOT test needed F/N/S lower wishbone replacement, rear bush had collapsed! Had my friendly local garage do it, while we were off to celebrate 25 years married, just before “lockdown”. I’d had a large stone hit the screen, big chip left of centre, MOT advisory. Front discs, advi...

This was taken at RAF Cosford TTOC meet last year. The significance to me? My apprentice entry here at RAF Cosford, 220 entry - Jan 1971 - December 1972.

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

Follow on from pre MOT, as presented all good! After replacing Aliens, last Friday, 20 December actually got water on headlights. Suspect it was a case of getting the pipe work primed, but now all working. Pre MOT said, due to age of car, Aliens operation not a testable item! Still enjoying driving ...

Hi Tony, my abode is March, Cambs - also retired, do you fancy a meet? As an ex mobile engineer, Cambs, Northants area was part of “my patch”.

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

Not a lot been happening, other than using the Silver Arrow and enjoying it, still able to have the top down, need to wear a scarf and hat now. Heated seats and heating system are both proving worthwhile. Having found out that there are headlight washers fitted, how do they work - read manual and fi...

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

The day out to RAF Cosford meet was brilliant, on a number of fronts. Car ran faultlessly, longest trip to date and very impressed with comfort (hood up and down). Night time driving was pleasant, headlights good. As a Scot, the MPG was very, very satisfying at 34.8, with speeds of 70-80mph. Overnig...

Re: 2019 Club events

Hi, just tried to get a room at Haughton Hall, none available. Have you got a second place for meeting the night before? I’m coming from Cambridge, so overnight would be good idea. No troubles if you have no suggestions, I did my apprenticeship at RAF Cosford, so am quite aware of the geography of t...

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

Hallelujah! Haldex oil and filter changed. Tap, tap, tap with hammer and chisel got drain plug out and smaller than expected amount of oil came out! Checked replacement drain plug, all good! The more I looked and tried to get to the filter, the more I frightened myself. Got out from under the TT and...

Re: AK47 “Silver Arrow”

Finally sorted an issue with driver's door lock.... Since picking it up the driver's door needed two pulls on the handle to open (locked or unlocked). But as there were more important engine, transmission service needs, was put on back burner. Two weeks ago on shutting the door the lock barrel jumpe...
