Had a couple of bits arrive while I was away, some lock nuts that hold the two power steering pipes together that run at the back of the engine.and gearbox.
Also a new bracket that holds the cable support bracket to the upper starter motor mounting bolt that was corroded.

An example of one of the brackets that was heavily corroded that has been cleaned up but ideally would like to replace before installation that holds the cable support clamp to the upper starter motor attachment bolt.

Some progress made with getting everything back together, it’s taking a lot longer than I thought but this is partly due to my not wanting to put something back that is starting to corrode combined with finding the right combination of tools to torque the bolts and nuts when reinstalling. Something I did a few days ago before going back to work, the re installation of the engine mount to body. Nice to see something going back in as opposed to coming off!!

I’ll do my best, events tend to have that annoying habit of coinciding with weekends that I’m rostered to work. Hopefully 2024 will be different.

During the weekend I’ve installed the slave cylinder and fitted the transfer box and positioned the gearbox on the transmission jack. A little bit of protection taped to the transfer box………….hope it works!,!
All ready for re installation.

The gearbox side engine mount cleaned up primed and top coat of Eastwoods Aluma Blast and the turbo oil return line installed after some corrosion removal, priming and painting before and after photos for comparison.
