Hi all, as a few of you lot will know I've been here for most of my driving years now...although that's not a lot compared to most of you auld yins ;)
I started off buying a mk1 TT when I was 18, initially I wasn't after a TT but after seeing this one come up for sale just down the road I had to have it. After I bought it the origional wheels only lasted about 1 week before I got fed up and changed them and that was to be the last of the modifying.
Image
and after a few niggly problems I joined up on the TT Forum and then it all went down hill from there. I had it lowered within a month and attended my first meet with the Scottish bunch to Knockhill for the ScottshVAG show, I met some characters that day ;D
After attending a few other meets and getting to know everyone a bit better i soon changed the wheels again
Image
then though it needed to go lower so I got rid of the springs and went for coilovers so I could go as low as possible.

Image
I also got fed up with the standard sound system so that opened up another can of worms and ended up with me spending another fortune
Image
Proof I did attempt to make it to Event11 :-[
Image
One of the last pics of the first TT before I royally broke it on a massive pothole at a T-junction snapping the steering rack, pumps, clutch and left shock all at the same time :'( still got 4k trade-in though
Image
I traded the TT in for an A3 140TDI Black Edition, I needed the diesel for doing loads of miles with work and travelling to see the missus every night, the plan again was to not modify it...but as usual I did but only lowered it a little bit this time :-[
Image
After having this for about 2 years I decided I needed a change for something more fun, and in a moment of madness bought a Porsche ???
I got a good deal on a 2007 Porsche Boxster, I think I had my blinkers on at the time I got it as after a few weeks started to regret it...plus buying a convertable in winter probably wasnt the best idea. It only last 2 months but it was fun having a go in the rear wheel drive especially when it was a bit slippy on the roads anyway
Image
I soon started searching for another TT, and found this TTS in Tamworth that I had to have. It had everything I wanted, apart from being Black which is a nightmare to keep clean but love it anyway
Image
I already have a few plans for it and will get on to them when I get the money...eventually

Thanks for looking folks, I hope to see you all at an Event soon

It's not all its cacked up to be. At first I think I was just happy that I had a Porsche ;D but after a few weeks the novelty factor wore off and it wasnt all that impressive.

Inside the interoir looked good but quite a lot of it felt cheap.

The clutch was extremely heavy and a nightmare if in slow movign traffic (it wasnt just mine I had test drove a fair few and they were all the same)

When booting it on a straight the rear end felt seriously twitchy and a few times I did find myself facing the wrong way on a straight road :-[ and a fair few times facing the wrong way on roundabouts ;D

Plus the serviceing on them was a bomb, looking at aroud 600 for a basic service :o and if you have any engine problems it all has to come out so repair costs do go up quite a bit with the extra labour hours needed

I do think that maybe because it is the 'baby' Porsche that it may not be as good as the 911 or whatever but after that experince I wouldnt really consider any other Porsche unfortunatley.

Hi Dazz!
I did a simular thing like you! i sold my most favorite audi tt for a X3 BMW! i bought this to tow my horse trailer but unfortunatly the main problem was petrol if i put my foot down slightly it was almost like some one was under the car having a drink on me!!! We sold the X3 phew! and went onto a mini which had a few problems as they do! but was cheap to run as it was a diesel. But in the mean time id clocked they were making an Audi tt in diesel and so i decided to save hard! At the time they hadnt been out long and so i kept saving! until New years eve(2013) Id been surfing the net for months and my husbands words were whatever you do dont rush and get the wrong spec! The most important things were quattro as we live on a farm and diesel as i have a heavy right foot! rear parking sensors as the new shape have a big bottom! full leather, white! and upgrades on the wheels! I got it all, my 09 tt arrived 14th of jan and it still feels like everytime i get in him is like the first day!! lov it!! enjoy your car its a stunner!
may see you at beamish!
kind regards
yvette

Thanks yvette, sounds like you've got yourself a good spec there. But white on a farm, you must be cleaning it for ages to keep it white ;D

Hi Daz,
Ive just noticed your a regional rep and i was interested in becoming one if i could do it please could you give me a quick gist on what the job entails!!!! im worried my computer skills may not be up to scratch!
Your are right its a weekly wash for my car! white is a little naughty but worth it!
We think the tts plate will be part of the caliper be careful bud dont try and pull off! maybe a trustworthy garage that you go to may be able to take it off for you or they may give you some helpfull advice! :)
kind regards
yvette

Hi yvette
It's mainly just organasing get togethers with folks in the local area (although some 'regions' are full countries in my case).
You can do different things from going on a drive somewhere, meeting up at organised car shows, organising a meal out somewhere etc.
You don't have to have good computer skills for it, and you're not doing too badly anyway
What area are you based in?
If you want any info on the sort of stuff I'm trying to arrange and have arranged this year drop me a PM and I'll give you the details

I'm sure it comes off as I can buy the replacements, I'll just have to find someone else TTS that I can practice on first ;D
