I came from a 2.0 TDi Audi A5 to own my first ever Audi TTS coupé, dubbed the Harlot by my Mrs. I do confess my sins that I too mocked owners as hair dressers :-[

Hey-ho I've had the TTS about a month now and the mods have started. But first the baseline.

I pushed the TTS over 40k miles on the journey from picking it up which I thought was quite good for an 8 year old car. Still haven't figured out which type of red it is. Pretty basic spec in all. DSG, Concert radio and rear parks. To my knowledge all Mk 2 TT have heated seats.

Only downside really was that a previous owner was a smoker. Although the smell is subtle I know it's there.

Before and a recent after:

Hi

Nice interior same as my TTS Roadster  it was the interior that made me choose it over others I saw.

I've recently done a seat swap and my new seats had a stale cigarette smoke smell and, being a none smoker, it was really unpleasant  I had an odour bomb recommended to me and it's made a massive difference, might be worth a try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dakota-Odour- ... SweW5VDEim

It did wet the leather a bit around where I placed the canister, but wiped off and didn't damage it at all. It's a few weeks since I used it and my car still smells nice.

Well the Parrot system is now out! Was easier than I thought but also a bit harder. Hopefully I've not snipped anything I shouldn't have. So far so good though.

Think I've got all that I can of the smell out now. Used Autofinesse Total to 'shampoo' all the upholstery. Boot, carpets and roof. I also gave the cabin filter a waft about but it seemed fairly new and I couldn't smell anything on that. I also sprayed half a can of oust inside with the blowers on then sprayed the other half down the exterior air intake for the cabin filter with the blowers on full blast and the all doors and windows shut.

If the smell persists I may get an our bomb. Possibly meguairs car refresh.

I appreciate I probably will never get rid of the smell entirely but what's left of it can be covered with sweet shop air fresheners
