Hev & I had had 4 TTs between us now
Hev's first TT was bought from Dundee Audi - a Mauritius Blue Mk1 roadster, 150hp version, which she always describes as a little go kart
PIC TO FOLLOW
I bought mine as a used car in March 2006 - a silver 225 Quattro Coupe from Aberdeen Audi - got bored of it after 8 months, and ordered one of the first GTI Edition 30s to arrive in the UK, arriving in March 2007
Just after Hev & I moved in together and got engaged in September 2007, this beauty came up at Aberdeen Audi...a 6 month old 3.2 V6 Quattro with virtually every option bar sat nav and cruise, in an Audi Exclusive colour, Sprint Blue - traded in the GTI Edition 30 and Hev's Mk1 150hp roadster for this
Absolutely stunning colour and sound from the V6, and loved every minute we had it. Even used it as our wedding car. Only mod was the optional Audi rear valance finished in Phantom Black
After getting married in November 2008, cash was in short supply, so sold the Mk2 to free up some money, and found a decent Mk1 225 Quattro Coupe for sale at Fife SEAT - another silver one to match my earlier TT. Did some of the usual mods, including R32 anti roll bars, V6 rear valance, and 18" Votex alloys
Ran the Mk1 for a bit and then disaster struck - I had a seizure out of the blue in June 2009, so that meant that I had to give up driving for 12 months. During that 12 months, the doctors also began to notice some strange things about me (stop laughing there at the back... ) with the result I was also diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's Disease. Bit of a shitter, that was...
Anyway, not ones to let things get us down, we'd been careful and had a little bit of cash stashed away...so thought what the hell...lets get another Mk2. Hev wanted another roadster as well as S-Tronic , and after looking at a couple of used TTS roadsters including a purple(!!) one at Harrogate Audi, and thinking about ordering a TTS roadster in an Exclusive colour, decided to throw caution to the wind completely, and treat ourselves to this... one of the first TTRS S-Tronic roadsters, in Sepang Blue, to arrive in the UK
I'd promised Hev she could have (almost) free reign over the spec, and the budget I'd set Hev kinda got blown out of the water, but the spec is pretty much everything we wanted, bar magnetic ride, which is where I drew the line at the cost
Arrived at Dundee Audi around Christmas Eve 2010, and picked it up straight after the new year in January 2011 as a late Christmas present No mods really to date, other than a Pipercross air filter and some engine bay carbon fibre trim. A set of Milltek decat pipes are sitting in the garage, and will get round to fitting them soon...
Now that I'm driving again after another enforced 12 month suspension on medical grounds, I'm finally getting a chance to drive the TTRS properly - still kinda stunned we own it, to be honest, 7 speed S-Tronic is surprisingly economical with a peak 35mpg seen and the sound from the 5 cylinder is something else under full bore acceleration - launch control 0-60 times of around 4.5 seconds are immense fun

Had a chance to do a quick wash and wax today for the first time in months
Lovely colour, with a bit of post-processing to give some contrast

Cosmetic mod this weekend - plan was to break up the blackness of the rear diffusor
Along with some paint, bought a replacement lower diffusor strip from Audi...which came in the world's biggest brown paper bag
My painting talent is on par with Stevie Wonder, so sent it off to my mate who has a bodyshop for proper prep and paint
4 torx screws later..I think it looks not bad, but if I get bored of it, can swap the original back on, or carbon wrap it

Got the car serviced the other week, before the trip down to Gaydon & back, and ever since then, the car had felt a little sluggish and jerky
Wonder if the DSG/S-Tronic gearbox had been reset and was learning again?
Anyway, I needn't have worried...still as rapid as ever
