Swapped out some of the old rusted serrated flange nuts on the forward wishbones that I'd seen a few weeks ago during the cv joint replacement at Shaks with some nice new ones and at the same time thought I would have a clean round the wheel arches, surprised how easily the years of grime came off although there are still a lot of road tar spots but still much better than it was ;) ;)

So yesterday I went back to see Rick at Unicorn to have my new injectors fitted and car remapped, before and after figures as per pics.

2nd year of tt ownership completed yesterday, can't believe how quickly time is passing, a few more jobs done during that time as listed below,

Strut brace chromed
LED sidelights fitted
Pipewerx turbo back exhaust fitted with sports cat
1st remap at Unicorn Motorsport Development
Forge FMIC installed and headlight washers replaced
Alarm siren replaced
V6 rear valance fitted
Battery replaced
Throttle Body removed, cleaned and refitted
Oz Ultraleggerra wheels and Goodyear tyres fitted
N75 valve replaced
Seats removed and cleaned
Haldex earth strap fitted
Alpine radio removed and Audi Concert fitted
Oil service and pollen filter changed
PRV replaced
And last but not least Bosch 550cc injectors installed and remap by Unicorn.

Still have a long list of things I would like to do over the next 12 months, time and finances permitting but have already got some replacement sill covers to go on once I get them painted, so that is my next project and sorting out both doors which have dropped a little bit over the last 15 years!!

When I had my new injectors installed a couple of weeks ago I'd seen that the clips between the injectors and fuel rail were really corroded, so picked up some new ones from Audi and spent a few minutes replacing them. Not a big job but nice to know that these should be ok for a good few years.

Also installed an OEM short shifter from stokeaudi on Saturday, a subtle difference in gear lever movement combined with a nice clean shifter mechanism, although the side shifter mechanism could now do with a good clean 🙂

The last few weeks I've been sorting out some jobs that need doing which mainly involve replacing parts but to start with the drivers seat had some bad creases in it that I wanted to touch up with some leather dye. The first one I tried was from Dynamix because they had Audi Feather Grey on their website, however when I tried it the colour wasn't even close. So I got in touch with Gliptone and sent off my headrest to use as a sample and they sent me a Liquid Leather dye based on the headrest provided, having used this I have to say I am really happy with the results.

I also wanted to change my rocker cover, so bought one off eBay and started to clean it up with a view to painting it but then decided to try out a powder coating company not far from me, the results are really good, now I just need to find the time to change it along with the other jobs I want to do.

Then finally I got the two new sill covers painted that I'd picked up and also set about removing the rusty old rear tow bracket which in order to get onto the last two bolts which I had to part cut through/shear off required the removal of the rear bumper cover.
So lots of jobs to do over the coming weeks, just have to balance that with taking the dog for walks and keeping my other half happy   oh and working!!!!

A few weeks ago I picked up a new after run coolant pump, almost certain that this has not been working for most of the time since I’ve had the car, so replaced it a a couple of weeks ago and now I can hear it running for a few minutes after I turn the engine off.

Bloody hell Brian, you have done MASSES of work on the car. All I have done since I bought my second TT (RS Plus 360 bhp) in April is to drive it LOL. The main reason is that I wouldn't have a scooby-doo about what to do, as I am not the least bit mechanically able.
