The front grill was cleaned with some warm soapy water and the Audi rings were sanded back to their original chrome finish to give a better key for the paint and then given two coats of Plastikote primer before the Plastikote satin black top coat.
In addition cleaned up the headlight levelling sensor attachment bracket to the track control arm which was starting to corrode with the paint flaking off, rubbed down, coated with Bilt Hamber electrox and finished in Eastwoods extreme chassis satin black.

Last Wednesday I collected the front bumper cover and reinstalled the headlight washer system, grills and clip nuts ready to go back on the TT.

Now with the track control arms refitted along with new ball joints and track rod ends, the bumper cover was installed, Glacier Blue is hard to match given that the paintwork is nearly 17 years old and people do say that the paint on plastics can appear to look different.
In some angles it looks a really close match, in others it looks completely different.
For now the next task is to finally have a proper 4 wheel alignment carried out and then a discussion with the body shop with regard to the bumper cover.

Just a couple of jobs done over the last few weeks, new rear hatch struts fitted and last Friday the Cookbots gear slop bush installed.
Some say it’s a 30 minute job to install the gear slop bush but it took me the best part of two hours to remove the OEM bush and then around 45 minutes to install the Cookbot bush.

I have thought for a while that the knee pads would look better if they were the same colour as the seats (Feather Grey) rather than black.
Some time ago I had some leather dye made to touch up some worn areas on the seats so have spent some time using this to make the change to the knee pads.

During the installation of the gear slop bush I noticed that the gear shift gaiter was split, so took the opportunity to fit an after market grey leather gaiter this weekend. Not entirely sure it looks ok but will give it some time and see how it goes.

For a while now I have considered changing the chrome plated strut brace due to deteriorating finish around the top strut attachment point. Towards the end of last year I picked up a second hand strut brace and yesterday started the process of cleaning it up before having it powder coated.

A couple of jobs completed over the last few days, collected my Cookbot gear knob on Friday and swapped out the Forge cam cover breather pipe which had gone very dark in colour and almost porous as it had a slight oily feel to touch.
Strut brace dropped off to be powder coated today so hopefully ready for when I get back from work next week.

Last Friday I collected the strut brace after being powder coated satin black, my original strut brace I had chromed a few years ago has deteriorated and started to rust especially around the strut mounts.
The last few days I swapped them out and had a clean around the top mount area.
