Hi - I've just joined the TTOC having purchased a year 2000 Audi TT 225 convertible.
I'm taking a big risk on a car with no verifiable service history (after the previous owner lost the file), but what I have been able to discover about the car from VOSA, HPI and some research on this forum seems right, it's low-mileage, cheap as chips and looks straight to my relatively untrained eye.
It's straight in for an oil change, and probably a cambelt in due course just in case.
If it goes wrong beyond economical repair, I'll be advertising parts on here for breaking to recoup my outlay!!!
But hopefully - and let's be optimistic - I'll be seeing some of you at local meets in my green machine.

Hello Rob!
Welcome to our club! im quite new too but can give a full thumbs up! Beamish is our next big meet on the 13th of july i know it may be a little treck for you but it will give your girl a good stretch of her legs and you will know if shes good to go by the end of it!! We can have a photo shoot on the main street after 5pm and also there will be a mark 3 TT on exhibition too!
TT"s are a very well made and well put together car im sure yours will be fine i used to own a mk1 225 coupe masano red 02 and he never gave any bother just wish i hadnt parted with him! Cambelt (or toothed belt) as Audi call them is definatly your main concern as Mr Trev has mentioned. Should cost around £350 as ive just had mine done! but it wouldnt hurt to have a full extensive service as when the belt comes out, quite alot of other parts are near to hand! Water pump, fan belt, engine oil, oil filter, air filter! . Also brake pads checked, then you have a start on building your own service log.Enjoy your car!
All the best!
kind regards a keen tt fan!

Well, that was rather short-lived! Went to the dealer to pay the balance and pick up the car, and it has suffered some damage since I saw it last. Dealer wouldn't shift on price and said take it or leave it. So I left it.
On the lookout for another now.
