Had been looking forward to getting to 23 evenTT, but doubt I’ll make it now! Laid up in bed with bloody COVID!!! Feeling rough as the proverbial badger! I’ll be doing what I can to get better, soon as, which is nothing. All this good weather going to waste for me, but at least no rain is getting into Silver Arrow.

Sadly I write this to say I’m still fighting to get back to full fitness after COVID! Spent week one in bed, week two up and down in bed, this past week trying to build up stamina again. Not sufficient yet to do a trip to Silverstone! Hope it’s a good day! Will be doing everything to get to Gaydon in October……

ImageBack in the game again!! Completed thermostat replacement this evening. Having read about this job being a PITA, I would definitely agree, my (now repaired) broken wrists didn’t help with this job!!! It was Soooooo satisfying watching the Temp gauge get up to 90, then seemed to be glued at that point! Just put water in to check for leaks………none. Coolant additive due to arrive on Monday, so that will complete the job.
So different from my earlier years with BMC A Series, Ford Kent, Pinto and CVH engines.

Attended evenTT at Gaydon today, well done organisers. First decent run Silver Arrow has had for a while and I was really impressed with fuel consumption, 229 miles and overall mpg was 32.3. I even saw a 33.7 at one point! This was driving via Milton Keynes going there and mainly A or M roads on returning home, all driving was done within relevant speed limits…………….most of the time!! I had the hood down most of the time, heated seat came into its own and hot A/C made it very enjoyable driving.

I never fail to be amazed by the fuel efficiency of the Mk3 RS averaged just over 40 for the 450 mile round trip.

Another year, another MOT! Audi-specialists, Burwell, Cambs have done me proud again. Faults to get through MOT:- O/S/F inner and outer CV boots, N/S/F steering rack boot and track rod end, as old one fubarred during removal. Front wheel alignment at no cost, helped. Again, I found great service, friendly advice and good costs.
Now Silver Arrow is set for another year of enjoyment 😎😎
