The Forge adjustable tie bars have been painted and are almost ready to go back on, hopefully the finish will last longer than the original powder coating.
A combination of BH Deox Gel followed by BH Hydrate 80 on the more pitted areas and BH Electrox on the bare metal before the application of POR ...

Also completed a Haldex oil and filter change, made a bit of a pigs ear with the oil change and ended up losing quite a bit so had to order another tube but this time was successful.

Back in 2019 I replaced the boot hold open struts with some from Stabilus, so a couple of days ago I thought it was time to replace the bonnet hold open struts as they were becoming a bit weak and had a little bit of corrosion showing.

So a few days ago I started removing the Forge adjustable tie bars so that I could start cleaning up the corrosion that had started to flake away the powder coating and to replace it with a coating of POR15 satin black paint that I’m hoping will be more resilient than the powder coated finish ...

A few months worth of dust cleaned off while working on the front of the TT, now back in the garage to do a couple of bits on the back end.

Bumper cover back on last week after a couple of attempts and then realising that some of the fasteners attaching the splitter were fouling on the intercooler so some rearranging required and bumper lined up really easily. A couple of items given a fresh coat of paint, the bracket that supports the vacuum reservoir and N249 valve and pipework and the pipe that goes from the throttle body to a check valve towards the rear of the engine bay.
