Re: BB's TT

Something else I picked up a few weeks ago but again unsure if it will be easy enough to fit or how long it will take before I get around to trying. However if the manufacturer is correct, this turbo heat blanket should reduce under bonnet temperatures which is a good thing.

Re: BB's TT

Starting to take shape and getting closer to how I want it to look, still some work to do, filling and sanding and then once done I’ll make a decision whether to fit or not!!

Re: BB's TT

Must admit Karen I do like the LCR splitter now it’s fitted gives the front more purpose.
The spoiler extension bizarrely I’m still not sure I’ll fit once I’m happy with it, I did pick up a spoiler from a V6 and had it painted Glacier Blue but the work involved to remove the existing spoiler and ...

Re: BB's TT

A few layers of fibreglass mat and resin and I’m hoping it will now have the extra height that I need. A bit rough and ready but fingers crossed with some careful sanding I will achieve the result that I’m looking for.

Re: BB's TT

Having spent some time in the winter fitting a seat lcr splitter I’m now attempting to fit a Maxton design spoiler extension that I’ve had for a couple of years and not got round to installing. This came with a sticker on saying that some sanding would be required to ensure a good fit and they were ...

Re: BB's TT

The Forge adjustable tie bars have been painted and are almost ready to go back on, hopefully the finish will last longer than the original powder coating.
A combination of BH Deox Gel followed by BH Hydrate 80 on the more pitted areas and BH Electrox on the bare metal before the application of POR ...

Re: BB's TT

Also completed a Haldex oil and filter change, made a bit of a pigs ear with the oil change and ended up losing quite a bit so had to order another tube but this time was successful.

Re: BB's TT

Back in 2019 I replaced the boot hold open struts with some from Stabilus, so a couple of days ago I thought it was time to replace the bonnet hold open struts as they were becoming a bit weak and had a little bit of corrosion showing.

Re: BB's TT

So a few days ago I started removing the Forge adjustable tie bars so that I could start cleaning up the corrosion that had started to flake away the powder coating and to replace it with a coating of POR15 satin black paint that I’m hoping will be more resilient than the powder coated finish ...
