Yes, I've seen that done before, but it wouldn't match the satin chrome bits and bobs I already have. Looks good though.YELLOW_TT wrote: Wed Jan 31, 2018 3:48 pm You can mod an old door cap to make a nice washer bottle cap

talking of shiny engine bits, I have been looking at 'tarting up' the bay of the Mk3, there are some parts available now... but at a price! A stage 1 ABT pack is only twice the price for three fancy bits 372BHP sounds better!

A friend had a go at sorting my bubbling wheel arch out a few weeks ago. He used to work in a body repair shop, so did it as a favour. I was reluctant to go anywhere as I didn't want the whole rear quarter respraying, which I'd been told was the only option, so he said he'd have a go at just doing the affected area, and has done a fantastic job.
From this ... To this ... I'm so chuffed with the result, as the rust was letting the rest of the car down.

My exhaust went on Friday evening as I was leaving work, sooooo embarrassing driving home in a car louder than a tractor!! I'm going to ring Zaustworx in Darwen this morning and see if they can have a quick look on my way home tonight, so I've had to drive it in this morning (I've actually arrived at work 50 minutes early so everyone else at work doesn't hear me arrive in it!).
Zaustworx do custom made systems, and I've heard good reports about them, so will see how helpful they are when I ring. They're also within walking distance of home and work, so ideal. I'll report back with my findings.

Been to Zaustworx. Some bracket bolts in the middle had corroded and the pipe was no longer joined together. He grinded the bolts off and put new ones on. Charged me a tenner!! Such a relief, as I've had a lot of large outgoings recently. Priced up a full cat back system for curiosity while I was there for future reference, as he said mine was in quite good condition and would last for a while yet. There's a 14 weeks waiting list!!
I was really impressed at how friendly and helpful they were, and will definitely use them when the time comes.

I've just picked up my refurbished wheels from Wheelrite in Chorley and thought I'd come out of hibernation to show them off.
The photos don't do them any justice, but I'm over the moon with them. I'll hopefully be able to get to some shows next year, without shabby wheels, if things are back to normal.-
