I get the week on/off working routine and how it interferes with projects. When I was working, we were doing one week in four “On Call” and early morning starts to get petrol station forecourts open ASAP (CCTV in canopies), that meant personal project work had to be timed to satisfactory halt points. I must admit just being able to down tools for the day knowing I can carry on at my leisure is one of the benefits of being retired!

Yes, it was definitely a case of planning what could be done in the time available and even on my days off there wasn’t always a lot of time I could spend on the TT with other family commitments to take into consideration. Still only a few more years and hopefully I will be retired and providing I’m still able perhaps some other jobs can be performed.AK47 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 6:20 pm I get the week on/off working routine and how it interferes with projects. Keep going Brian, it’s worth it in the end. I’ve found a volunteering position that fits me like a glove……………bike hire/maintenance and boat driving (training provided)). This gives me satisfaction and keeps my interest in mechanical “things” going, plus the most beneficial thing……………well-being, in the tranquility of Wicken Fen NT nature reserve. I look forward to hearing your ‘exploits’ over the coming days………..weeks…………months. I enjoy and envy your attention to detail, well done Brian.

Thank you for the kind words, it certainly sounds like you have found the perfect combination of activities to pursue in a wonderful location now that you are retired. I hope that one day I will be as fortunate but in the meantime I will endeavour to contribute to this thread with any other jobs that I tackle. Having said that I have now received the seals for the haldex pre charge pump along with a new filter and haldex oil, so watch this space!!AK47 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 11:44 pm Keep going Brian, it’s worth it in the end. Just a small job swapping the black coupler between the MAF and the air filter with a blue one from Forge, a little trimming required to alter the angle slightly to stop contact with the battery housing.

Today I collected the roof rails and camshaft cover from the paint shop. Something to do later in the year.
