“Tarting up” ready for first meet up of the year. Also did bonnet struts. Quick rub down and sprayed Matt Black, same as my wiper arms.

This came up returning home today!! 14,000 miles in 4 years of enjoyment, driving and owning Silver Arrow. Meeting like minded friendly owners. The odd curse and oath when completing a supposedly simple maintenance task. Would I change it? NO, NO, NO the enjoyment of driving Silver Arrow is unique.

Had a lovely ride out yesterday for a couple of hours, nice weather, top down, lovely. Then today what a catastrophe!! Builders in adjacent field had BIG tractor and flail mower in to chop down weeds/grass. I stood in back garden and threw back over the “green stuff” that came our way!! Started lawn mower (I bought one with battery start when I retired) and cut lawn. I did hear a sort of stones on glass sound, but presumed it was our neighbour’s patio doors…………..Old engineering adage “Don’t assume, CHECK”. Opening the back gate, see photos………….now trying to rectify

New hood all fitted and I’m very pleased with the results. Apparently the hood is an American manufacturer and it has a metal plate around the edge of the window on the inside, this helps to reduce the stress on the joint. It certainly looks the dog’s doo dahs!

I found this in my toolbox today, a relic from my working life (replacing a CCTV camera). I didn’t know about TTs then, never thought I’d have one of my own!! I think this will polish up well on the polisher, then I’ll keep it in the tool holder in the spare wheel.
