I was looking for a winter project and it had to be something either considered a ‘classic’ or future classic. I’ve always liked Audi of 80s, 90s and 00s vintage and stumbled upon this car on a certain automotive classifieds website. The car was listed as having a misfire but otherwise being in good condition and, despite its high mileage, looked great on the photos. So on an autumnal day in October 2019 my wife and I took a trip to the dealer and, following a bit of negotiation, a deal was struck. I was now the owner of a TT

The following week I pulled the car out to assess what I’d bought and all was generally well. The carpets were wet through as the car had been on a forecourt at the dealer and victim to the torrential rain we’d been having. There were a few pieces of damaged trim, the radio was missing, the rear tail light cracked, the lower front grill lose and there was this misfire of unknown cause. My TT journey had began!
