I have a nothing-special TT Roadster that I picked up about a year ago. I don't use it much, but have enjoyed ownership so far.

Being a 2008 car, it's obviously past it's best, so I've had a focus on getting all of the little niggles addressed and trying to get it running and looking as nicely as possible.

I've already started on this journey, but wanted to record how thing progress for posterity (and to help me figure out why I'm putting more money into an old car than it probably deserves!).

Done so far, since April 2021:
- cam belt changed (was coming close to 5 years since the last change, although only about 28k miles)
- HPFP cam follower changed, old one wasn't showing excessive wear fortunately
- routine servicing
- BOSE amp corrosion repair (Bose Repair Experts in Scotland, highly recommended)
- installation of XTrons Android head unit, with dash cam and reversing camera
- upgrade to 19" Le Mans wheels
- new rear brake pads

Planned as of now:
- a visit to the bodyshop to address stone-chips, front arch aggregates damage from a passing lorry, various scuffs and light scratches around the car
- pinhole in outer roof skin to address
- roof thorough clean and protect
- mesh front grille
- sticking door handle on passenger side
- fix the glovebox (usual problem, bracket broken though)
- something to improve the lighting (not sure what yet, need to research options)
- paint calipers
- various bits and pieces in the engine bay: new dipstick, engine cover, undertray
- suspect I need a CANBUS relay as reverse camera feed doesn't show (does when the engine isn't running though)
- refresh (or even retrim) for the leather seats
- new bushes and possibly coilovers
- still undecided about performance upgrades

Mostly mundane and unexciting. It's in the bodyshop for the entire of next week, so I'm hoping for quite a contrast in the before and after.

Thank you! Yes, this will be the literal definition of "sweating the little things". Hopefully the next owner appreciates it when I finally cave in and trade up for an RS

The car is in the bodyshop as of Monday, so here's a few pics detailing why. Nothing too out of the ordinary but it has more than it's share of stone chips, complimented by damage on the front arch from an uncovered aggregates lorry.

Plan is a front end respray, attention to the scuffs and scratches and a flat and polish. Never had any paintwork done (expect a little bit on my old SL55) so eager to see the results.
